Carbon Credits


Services

The Carbon Fund provides the following services:

  • Functions as the holder of "Environmental Easements" for all land entered into this program or partner with a reputable land trust or conservation organization to hold easements.

  • Serve as fiscal agent for the transfer of all funds associated with the sale of "Carbon Credits" as they may be more fully described in Section 1605 of the Energy Policy Act of 1992, or in relation to the Federal Climate Challenge Program or Climate Change Action Plan of 1993 of the United States or other act, policy or similar instrument throughout the world.

  • Recording all appropriate information on lands entered into the program,

  • Working with State/Federal agencies and bottomland hardwood experts to develop Forest Management Plans for lands entered into the program,

  • Overseeing planting processes associated with reforestation, which shall be conducted utilizing accepted tree planting practices such as those utilized by State/Federal agencies and reforestation organizations in the area of work.

  • Quantifying the carbon sequestered from the above described efforts of forest protection, restoration and enhancement,

  • Filing all reports with the United States Department of Energy, United States Department of Agriculture and any other appropriate government agency.

  • Securing lands for reforestation.

  • Insure the planting success of reforestation efforts made for five years (tree insurance).

  • Secure third party verification of the carbon quantification efforts (audit and certification).

  • Marketing for landowners desiring to sell their carbon rights and reforest their property and buyers desiring to purchase carbon credits.
